Magazine Cover Preview

Masthead- The title of a newspaper or magazine at the head of the front or editorial page.

Selling line- Short, sharp description of the title's main marketing point.

Main image-  In case of this front cover there is a single image of the model Shania. The image is used in a classic way, the face is big enough to stand out on the newsstand, with the model maing full-eye contact.

Model credit- This says: 'Shania: So hot.' It us unusual for such a credit to appear on a magazine front cover, but it is done sometimes on fashion magazines.

Cover lines- Short statements found on the cover of the magazine that allude to or describe the articles inside. Their purpose is to entice the reader into picking up and/or buying the magazine.

Main cover line- It promotes the use of naked male centerfolds, a feature of Cosmopolitian in the UK since its first issue.

Year in review

Well this is one of my favorite photos because of curse it's Rihanna, I mean you can't go wrong with her also it has something in common wit the rule of thirds. Rihanna is aligned on the left side of this photo. 

 This photo of Kanye is priceless honestly. Why? Good question, it's because this far right here is his face every single day if you haven't noticed every photo that he takes. Also the quality of the photo is like so HD.

And finally my favorite photo of the year is when Taylor Swift fell in front of Kim and Kanye. Like look at both of their faces. Their just like "um? Tay what you doing!?".

MY FAVORITE PHOTO OF 2015

This has to be my favorite photo of 2015 because it's my idol Kobe Bryant and the reason why I chose this is because it shows him bringing the ball up the court and smiling usually Kobe has a mug on his face when he brings it up but this is different. I think it's because it's his year to retire mate. 

2. The things that attracted me to this photo is one his shoes, his shooting sleeve. 

3. The reason why this is the best is because of 2015 is because it's Kobe Bryant.

Kobe Bryant because he announced that he was retiring this year and after he said everybody was honesty in shock (Kobe Bryant Fans).

1. My holiday hopes are my family coming together again and doing a lot better in school and making variety basketball as a sophomore.

2. Drinking less spites, doing more around the house, and most of all getting good grades and keeping up with my work. 

3.  I'm looking forward to my birthday and getting MY PERMIT!! and doing a lot more basketball workouts.

Photo Composition Part 2/Portrait Photography Preview

PART 2

Symmetry and Pattern- Great way to use them is to break the symmetry or pattern in some way, introducing tension and focal point to the scene.

 

Viewpoint- Consider photographing from high above, down at ground level, from the side, from the back, from a long way away, from very close up, and so on.

Create Depth- By including objects in the foreground, middle ground and background.

Cropping (filling the frame)- The subject you eliminate the background "noise", ensuring gets the viewer's undivided attention.

Simplicity- Ways to give the center of interest in your pictures the most visual attention

The Rule of Thirds- You can use the rule of thirds as a guide in the off-center placement of your subjects.

Portrait Photography Preview

1. It's important because in the portrait it offers enormous potential to extend or enhance the communication.  The environments pays a major role un revealing the identity of the individual. 

2. Where more information is required about the physical surroundings and environment, it's recommended to use their camera in either fully manual or aperture priority mode so that maximum control is maintained. 

3.  By the environments and lighting may be chosen to reflect the mood or state of mind of the subject. The path travelled could be purely coincidental or could have been chosen to represent the journey of his life.

4.  The photographer should clarify that the subject does have time for the photograph to be made and indicate that it may involve more than one image being created. Also the subject may need guidance on how to sit or stand, what they should do with their hands and where to look. 

Environmental portrait

I like that the photo is taken through the net and I picked it because it looked interesting.

I like how the sun creates a small glare in the photo and I chose this photo because I thought it was eye popping.

Casual Portrait

Reason why I chose this causal photo is because I like the polo he has on and the background seems very casual as well.

Planning ahead

Justen and I may go to the courtyard, New Tech hallway or the Green hallway to take our portraits. We both haven't decided yet but were going to experiment at all the locations and see which location looks better. Poop

Elements of Art and Principles Design

Line- Element of art is defined by a point moving in space. Also line may be two or three dimensional, flat, or even limited to height and width.

Shape- Element of art that is two-dimensional, flat, or limited to height and width.

Form- An element of art that is three-dimensional and encloses the volume; it includes height, width AND depth. Form may also be free flowing.

Value- The lightness or the darkness of tones or colors. White is the lightest value and black is the darkest. The value halfway between these extremes is called middle gray.

Space- An element of art by which positive and negative areas are defined or a sense of depth achieved in a work of art.

Color- An element of art made up of three properties which are hue, value, and intensity. 

• Hue: is name of color
• Value: Hue's lightness and darkness ( a color's value changes when white or black is added)
• Intensity: Quality of brightness and purity (high intensity= color is strong and bright; low intensity= color is a faint and dull)

 Texture: An element is art that refers to the way things feel, or look as if they might feel if touched. 

PRINCIPLES OF DESIGN

Balance- is the distribution of the visual weight of objects, objects, colors, texture, and space.

Contrast- Is created by using elements that conflict with one another. Often, contrast is created using complementary colors or extreme light and dark values. Contrast often draws the eye to certain is used to make a painting look interesting. 

Emphasis- In the focal area of a network gives it importance. An artist may strew some elements of the design over others. The viewer will focus on the area of emphasis or center of interest first, then take in the rest of the composition. 

Movement- Is a artwork means the artist is taking viewers on a trip through the work by means of lines, edges, shapes, and colors often leading to the focal area. Movement is a visual flow through the composition. 

Pattern- Is made in art when the same shapes or elements are repeated again and again. Pattern uses the elements of art in planned or random repetitions to enhance surfaces of painting or  sculptures. 

Rhythm- Is the repetition of shapes, lines, and forms. Rhythm is a movement in which some elements recurs regularly. Like a dance, it will have flow of objects that will seem to be like the beat of music.

Unity- Means that elements in an artwork are in harmony. Unity brings together a composition with similar units.
